About Us

The idea was to open a venue that would bring together everything they love to do, drink, eat and share. To create unique place, and bring out the potential of their neighborhood that they love so much.

Guillaume had been working in the bars around brussels since 2006. Something he started as a student to pay for his studies and his small apartment in schaerbeek became a passion as the years passed, and through working in the many diverse bars in the city, he acquired a wealth of experience and expertise in beer tasting, cocktail mixology and most importantly an amazing ability to bond with customers - the greatest bartending skill.

Max - unlike his brother - used to spend more time on the other side of the counter. After many years spent working as a graphic designer and software developer in the events business it was time to start a new chapter. An enthusiastic entrepreneur, he loves to solve problems, discover new ideas that help improve daily life and find solutions so his team can spend less time on repetitive things and focus instead on the most important thing of all: the awesome people coming through the doors of the 1030 café every day.

During the spring of 2016 they found the perfect spot for their project. After a few months of hard work, they transformed the oldplace into their vision of what it could be. On october 1st 2016, the 1030 Café finally opened its doors to the public.

Since then many other great bars and restaurants have opened near by turning schaerbeek into a neighborhood with its own nightlife, and identity while keeping its wonderful people.
